Our Story

Meet us – Bayu & Chan. Two local surfers, with a deep passion for the surf and hospitality industry. Our combined experience in both, spans across years – in Mentawai and overseas, giving us unique insights to share. From catching the perfect wave to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, we’re dedicated to sharing our local knowledge and love for our home.

We built Kokos Mentawai with our own bare hands. Every small detail is an expression of our love and passion. And now we are joined by our closest friends and family, to give you the ultimate Mentawai surfing experience.

Sensational, it was worth every dollar invested. Incredible atmosphere, very good food, it felt like we weren't even in Indonesia. Everything perfect and in an extremely familiar atmosphere. Bayu always took us to the best surf spots suitable for our level. The staff and the chef also deserve a mention, as does the photographer Adit, who simply took all the possible photos of us. All in all, highly recommended."
